Back on the Saddle Again!
We know it's been a long time, but man it has been a ride. We have been on the move since the beginning of the Christmas Break, and well, we feel as though we are just reaching "normal" again. We know it's time to post as we have recieved complaints from all three sets of Grandparents. Since then we have:
- Had one visit from Grandma Hall.
- Two visits from the Cassidy Family.
- Jeremy and I had the stomach flu, and Diana had Bronchitis!
- Moved to South Denver into a new place, which we all love!
- Jeremy started a new semester at the Augustine Institute, taking a class on Leadership.
- Grandma and Grandpa Piraino came to town.
- Simeon was hospitalized with RSV for 4 days, and was on oxygen for a week and half.
- Went to the Denver Catholic "Living the Faith" Conference.
- We have led 2 Confirmation retreats, and helped to prep two others.
So.....the moral of he story is "normal" really means normal for us as this is the first weekend that we don't have anything scheduled, anyone coming to visit, a healthy family, and feel like we can let our hair down. Or should we just wait and knock on wood to see if something is to happen? Such is life...
Little man is turning into just that. He is now around 22 lbs (you will get the official specs on Tuesday, as we have our 9/10 month check-up) and TALKS all the time. He calls me Dada, well really he calls everything Dada, and loves to exercise different levels of tone and volume with his voice. Truly, he is his Father's son. He is walking around the coffee table, and furniture, pulling down the toilet paper roll, crawling on all four instead of army crawling, and chewing on books like paper is candy. If you looked at our bookshelf you would think that we had a mouse in the house. His newest trick is that he has learned to back off of high objects with his feet first, rather than diving head first, trusting that we are there to catch him. He really was such a trooper in the hospital. It was hard being hooked up so many things as they monitored his vitals, had oxygen on his face, and and IV in his arm. The saddest moment (besides being a parent and watching your child suffer so) was seeing him try to make a pass at the finger he loved to suck on, but couldn't get to becacuse of the bandage and splint that they put on his arm to cover his IV. :( But...he has almost fully recovered, and is back to his little self again, always keeping us on our toes.
so we didnt' go back to the crib for awhile.

We are moving!
Sorry that it has been so long without us posting! We want to keep you on our family, but it's been crazy. We got the flu right after Christmas, and then also I was down with bronchitis.
We are moving to South Denver (hooray!) this weekend. I will try to update the blog after we get settled with all of our fun Christmas pictures, and new videos. (We got a video camera for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Piraino!)
Pray for us as we make the move this weekend, and as we get settled!
Love you all and Happy New Year!

Food for thought
Simeon is starting to explore more and more with food. So far he like sweet potatoes, carrots, rice cereal and crackers, bananas, pears, and apple
sauce. If it's time to eat, and we need to say prayers first, watch out, talk about unhappy kid. He's learning patience. It's my hope to begin teaching him sign language for please, thank you, more, and food. So if he gets it down expect a video. But now that he is liking food a littl

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!
Our first Thanksgiving...The Men and Me
That weekend, Jeremy took me on a date...a real one! Dinner and the Nutcracker! I felt so lucky! We left Simeon with the men, 3 men and a baby! He had a ball. I think it's the best he has been for a babysitter(s), as he barely made it to bed before we got home! Maybe I'll have them do it again. They did try to get a rise out of me as I came home to find a picture on the camera of Simeon sucking and hugging a Kahlua bottle of alcohol! I told him I did expect him to be swinging from the ceiling fan!

A Match Made in Heaven?
Welcome to our Christian Family Emma Catherine DiNuzzo!

This weekend we had the privilege of being selected as the God Parents of Emma Catherine DiNuzzo. Dave and Catherine are some of our close friends who live in Colorado Springs (Catherine is the wise mama who encouraged me to do cloth diapers). Emma is such a sweet thing who loves to use her vocal cords at times, and who has a need for speed in the swing.
Simeon loved the trip because he got to play with Lily, (who just took her first tumble on to a concrete floor) and play with all of their toys. Lily also showed Simeon how much fun it is to play with rocks at the park, and even put them his mouth! (Mom forgot the camera for that venture :( )
Emma was baptized at the Air Force Academy Chapel. The Deacon is a close family friend of the DiNuzzo's, and presided over the ceremony. Emma was a gem through the whole thing, and barely hollered in the process of getting the water poured on her forehead. But someone else by the name of Simeon Christian Cassidy was trying to be the show stealer as he babbled and squawked the whole time.

Rice Cereal and Baby Mum-Mums
P.S. For those grandparents who were worried about Simeon's poopooh cycle of 7 or more days need not worry no more....he is officially regular! I am welcoming any volunteers to help change diapers!

Our neck of the woods
Can you believe that it's the middle of the November and we are having 75 degree weather? It's been an absolutely lovely fall here! We have been trying to take advantage of it by getting outside as much as possible. Two of Simeon's favorite things to do is to watch the ducks and the geese in the pond right outside our apartment, and see the leaves blow in the wind on the trees. (although that will be coming to an end here real soon) Simeon is getting to be so much fun as he is so responsive, and mimicking a lot of the sounds that we are making. We are about to start solids so will have a hole new part of his life to video and take pictures of!Please continue to pray for us as it is looking like we are going to move, as it's just a matter of time in finding the right deal, and the right apartment.

Happy Feast of all Saints Day and All Souls Day!!We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our Catholic holidays (with a couple of extra days off for both Mom and Dad) and enjoyed warm beautiful fall days with the little boy. We tried to have a low key weekend as we have been pretty social lately, and just needing some time as a family.
This weekend we got to witness another baptism of a friend from Church. There little boy, George was welcomed into our Christian family on All Saints Day, with a beautiful Mass. It was fun to got to, as there were about 20 adults, and almost twice as many children running around! We know we got to see the water sprinkled, but the rest of the time we were trying to
get Simeon not to flirt with the many young ladies there! As you will see from the pictures, Simeon has just been hamming it up lately! Seems like everywhere we go, he is attracting friends, as he always has a smile to melt any strangers hearts! The little Mexican ladies at Church are about to steal him from me, and adopt him as their own grandson! (grandparents hint, hint :) No personality at all as you can see. We can't wait for any and all visits as it just seems like he changes daily! If you call, don't be surprised to hear him babbling in the background. He is going to be a talker...wonder who he gets that from...Papa?
So we are asking for any and all prayers that we can get right now. We are considering moving to south Denver. Yes, I know what you are thinking. Didn't we just move? Shouldn't we be just starting to feel adjusted to our area, and feeling good about life? Well, the answer is yes to both of those statements. I guess we just like to shake it up all the time! No, really our reasoning is that we are really starting to get closer with the community that lives in South Denver, Jeremy's drive is killer wasted time in the day (and gas), and cheaper cost for our apartments. Nothing is for sure, we are just thinking about this potentially. But please pray for us, because the thought of moving make me want to vomit, and yet I know it could be whats best for us. It's challenging when you move to a new (big) city for the first time, and you have to figure everything out all over again. Please pray for us as we way all of our options and look into some specific rental properties! We'll keep you updated! And don't forget to do
your civic duty! Get out to vote!P.S. I have know idea why our post is posting so weird...
