Food for thought
Simeon currently like anything that makes noise. Tissue paper, rocks in Tupperware, macaroni and cheese box, fruit snack wrapper. If it makes noise, he's there trying to shake it to make more noise. I was making myself dinner one night (when I had just got home from work, and Jeremy was at grad school), and so I gave Simeon the Mac box to shake. I caught him looking up the nutritious value! I know son, less than ideal!
Simeon is starting to explore more and more with food. So far he like sweet potatoes, carrots, rice cereal and crackers, bananas, pears, and apple
sauce. If it's time to eat, and we need to say prayers first, watch out, talk about unhappy kid. He's learning patience. It's my hope to begin teaching him sign language for please, thank you, more, and food. So if he gets it down expect a video. But now that he is liking food a little bit more, it's getting really fun to feed him.

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!
Our first Thanksgiving...The Men and Me
We a got the chance to entertain some of the bachelor men that have entered our lives because of FOCUS. To say the least, I was thrown off my game, because I am used to being surrounded by women. But it was a wonderful day. I cooked the full meal with the help of my husband, and then got to watch all the men show me their mad kitchen duty skills as I pulled the supervisor card. :) (Simeon didn't have to do the dishes either, as he was sacked out from the turkey.) It was a wonderful and relaxing day with football, wine, and Mexican Train (don't worry Rossco...I beat Jeremy again)!
That weekend, Jeremy took me on a date...a real one! Dinner and the Nutcracker! I felt so lucky! We left Simeon with the men, 3 men and a baby! He had a ball. I think it's the best he has been for a babysitter(s), as he barely made it to bed before we got home! Maybe I'll have them do it again. They did try to get a rise out of me as I came home to find a picture on the camera of Simeon sucking and hugging a Kahlua bottle of alcohol! I told him I did expect him to be swinging from the ceiling fan!

A Match Made in Heaven?
My son is only 6 and half months old, and he has already received his first kiss! We may already have a match made in heaven. This is how the turn of events unfolded...
Welcome to our Christian Family Emma Catherine DiNuzzo!
This weekend we had the privilege of being selected as the God Parents of Emma Catherine DiNuzzo. Dave and Catherine are some of our close friends who live in Colorado Springs (Catherine is the wise mama who encouraged me to do cloth diapers). Emma is such a sweet thing who loves to use her vocal cords at times, and who has a need for speed in the swing.
Simeon loved the trip because he got to play with Lily, (who just took her first tumble on to a concrete floor) and play with all of their toys. Lily also showed Simeon how much fun it is to play with rocks at the park, and even put them his mouth! (Mom forgot the camera for that venture :( )
Emma was baptized at the Air Force Academy Chapel. The Deacon is a close family friend of the DiNuzzo's, and presided over the ceremony. Emma was a gem through the whole thing, and barely hollered in the process of getting the water poured on her forehead. But someone else by the name of Simeon Christian Cassidy was trying to be the show stealer as he babbled and squawked the whole time.
Waiting for the Baptism to begin.
Proud parents of their little one, Dave, Catherine, and Emma.
Washing away that original sin! Emma's clean as snow!

Rice Cereal and Baby Mum-Mums
We are recently have come into a new venture in life: Solid Foods! We have started out with just some rice crackers and rice cereal, both of which he is getting more fond of, but still wanting mostly me. Jeremy got to experience his diaper this morning after 4 rice crackers and 3 small helpings of rice cereal from yesterday. :) I think he mostly enjoys chewing on the soft spoons.
P.S. For those grandparents who were worried about Simeon's poopooh cycle of 7 or more days need not worry no more....he is officially regular! I am welcoming any volunteers to help change diapers!

My first puppy dog
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Cassidy. I love my new Pluto. I have some videos of me playing with him, but we are having some problems with loading them on Blogger. Stay tuned and hopefully they will pop up. (That also goes for Grandma and Grandpa Hall and the Moose package that you recently sent!) Love you too!

Our neck of the woods
Can you believe that it's the middle of the November and we are having 75 degree weather? It's been an absolutely lovely fall here! We have been trying to take advantage of it by getting outside as much as possible. Two of Simeon's favorite things to do is to watch the ducks and the geese in the pond right outside our apartment, and see the leaves blow in the wind on the trees. (although that will be coming to an end here real soon) Simeon is getting to be so much fun as he is so responsive, and mimicking a lot of the sounds that we are making. We are about to start solids so will have a hole new part of his life to video and take pictures of!
This last weekend we had a big football game rivalry between the Augustine Institute, and FOCUS staff (mostly from HQ). Jeremy ate it up even though he was considered to be fraternizing with the enemy. (FOCUS wanted me to feed a fake playbook to the AI team) Before hand, we enjoyed a chili feed at one of Jeremy's professors house, while enjoying Denver football with about 40 AI students and FOCUS staff. We kicked off our football game at 2PM. With there being about 35 children in total, this mama didn't watch much of the game, but I did get to enjoy playing with Simeon with several other children. In the end, the AI won and Jeremy got to come home a proud papa.
Please continue to pray for us as it is looking like we are going to move, as it's just a matter of time in finding the right deal, and the right apartment.

Happy Feast of all Saints Day and All Souls Day!!
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our Catholic holidays (with a couple of extra days off for both Mom and Dad) and enjoyed warm beautiful fall days with the little boy. We tried to have a low key weekend as we have been pretty social lately, and just needing some time as a family.
This weekend we got to witness another baptism of a friend from Church. There little boy, George was welcomed into our Christian family on All Saints Day, with a beautiful Mass. It was fun to got to, as there were about 20 adults, and almost twice as many children running around! We know we got to see the water sprinkled, but the rest of the time we were trying to get Simeon not to flirt with the many young ladies there!
As you will see from the pictures, Simeon has just been hamming it up lately! Seems like everywhere we go, he is attracting friends, as he always has a smile to melt any strangers hearts! The little Mexican ladies at Church are about to steal him from me, and adopt him as their own grandson! (grandparents hint, hint :) No personality at all as you can see. We can't wait for any and all visits as it just seems like he changes daily! If you call, don't be surprised to hear him babbling in the background. He is going to be a talker...wonder who he gets that from...Papa?
So we are asking for any and all prayers that we can get right now. We are considering moving to south Denver. Yes, I know what you are thinking. Didn't we just move? Shouldn't we be just starting to feel adjusted to our area, and feeling good about life? Well, the answer is yes to both of those statements. I guess we just like to shake it up all the time! No, really our reasoning is that we are really starting to get closer with the community that lives in South Denver, Jeremy's drive is killer wasted time in the day (and gas), and cheaper cost for our apartments. Nothing is for sure, we are just thinking about this potentially. But please pray for us, because the thought of moving make me want to vomit, and yet I know it could be whats best for us. It's challenging when you move to a new (big) city for the first time, and you have to figure everything out all over again. Please pray for us as we way all of our options and look into some specific rental properties! We'll keep you updated! And don't forget to do your civic duty! Get out to vote!
P.S. I have know idea why our post is posting so weird...

Splash, Splash, SPLASH!!
Bath time has become so much more fun now that Simeon can sit up and is a little bit more stable. He is still grasping at things to help with balance, but the tub lends naturally to his new abilities as it has a built in seat. Simeon is having a good ole time as he is splashing, reaching for the plastic cups that I rinse him off with, chewing on teething ring, and even sucking the water out of the wash rag (only to usually spit when I am getting him dressed).
I would like you to take notice to his impressive rolls on his tummy, and his leg chubs as Mom works hard to produce milk to fill that little man out! :) Simeon is a healthy little eater still, and is yet to start on solid foods. We went to the Dr. recently and he is a whopping 17 lbs. 3 oz. and 26 inches long! (You can really tell when you carry him around for a while.) Please say a little prayer for us though. Simeon is teething. He has cut his two front teeth, and may be cutting the two top teeth right next to the front teeth on either side! He's doing pretty good, but the catch is the night time: he's pretty much only sleeping in Jeremy's or my arms. So maybe don't pray for him, but rather for us! Happy Fall!
